Now look at where we are. I understand the Govt of the day way back then when all this woke nonscience first came about were advised by Treasury not to go down the Wind Mill road. I personally was told by a engineer on the project during my time in Horizons. Sheer Lunacy. They are the most expensive form of generation out there.. The generator needs to be replaced every 18 months and the maintaince very costly, with a major replacement every 25 yrs. We now no the blades need to be replaced about then and what’s more they are not recyclable. In short a 25 yr life span and the rebuild starts. On TV One tonight they dug a wee bit deeper into this subject, but not nearly far enough. In the last 7 years energy and energy supply has more than doubled. to the consumer. The cheapest form of energy supplied in NZ today is coal. The generation capacity is cheap to build and we have huge quantity’s of high grade coal clean burning. But the best is the new generation Nuclear generators. They fit in a 40 foot shipping container and power 10,000,s of homes and or businesses’ for a very long time. And very cheaply. We personally have invested in one such provider , a Canadian company, LTBR Corp. It is one of many out there now, all be it in their infancy, but believe me they are going places in the USA, given all these huge AI Data centers being built and the huge amount of electricity that will be needed to power them.
