Good morning. Another month, another closer to Xmas. Summer has been kinder than last.  Bit of rain and definitely cooler, although the powers that be will come out at the end saying the hottest on record. Even though NIWA stated end of last yr that we were in a cooling cycle that began after the peak temps recorded in the  summer of 1999. 18% unemployment across the region.(Horizons) Food bank demand doubles. My assessment. Energy. Mills, processing plants of every description closing. Initially the finger pointed at electricity cost. Now no reason. Just closed. My bet its electricity. You have heard me discuss the N word. Yes modular reactors in a shipping container powering 1000,s of meter boards. Cheaply. But no. Sorry guys. We have this ridiculous N ban. My view only going to get worse. I came across  this item on Quora. Very relevant to todays world including NZ. Just change the word. Democracy. Palestinian’s. Gaza.

  1. Palestinian only society. Where Palestinian can enslave, demand, oppress.
  2. Peace. Palestinians Colonize, control you and feel at peace.
  3. Justice. Palestinians have unrestricted legal  right to do what ever they want. You have no rights.
  4. Human rights. Palestinians are deeply concerned about human rights. Once they take your land, there exists no more human rights.
  5. Starvation. Palestinians being over fed with free food that their victims have to pay for.
  6. Straight out of the UN,s play book. Just what are they instigating here in NZ?. Well i put my name in the hat for a candidate  for the ACT Party in  the Otaki Kapiti electorate, not that i live there but thought i would give it ago, being that the last Candidate lived in Wellington . A lawyer, nice chap. Up standing National supporter party member. That was where i first met him. I reported on the Central Regions party conference some time ago.  Not standing again. Got a nice letter back from a party  official thanking me for the interest shown, but. NO thanks. Okey. Just who do they want. But it is  obvious to me that they want people who will toe the party(s) line. Not have any political experience, or where they have taken a staunch pro Govt policy platform. Yes men and woman. Where electorates have elected reps, not list. these members can be pretty much ineffectual.. Unless they are career driven. So what about me. What do you think? Now what do you think about the ACT Party. I mean to say. Interview? NZ First. Seems to me that Winny and Shane sit on the fence on far to many issues. Shane been caught doing a politician’s favourite past time. Doing a about face. But it is obvious to me that voters are waking up. The political system is driving change at a noticeable pace now. Voters are aware that something is wrong, swinging right, then left, then right a bit more, and back again. Another 3 years of the policy path taken by those in power, and it will be too late. What will happen when urban voters realise that those marchers from rural communities were for real. That instead of jeering from the window sills, they should have been down there too. Mass protests?. Eftpost Cards canceled. End of story. Public stuffed. Our $ continues to look weak against all our trading partners, Importing more food. A catastrophe coming. A death by a thousand cuts. What do you prefer. Telling the UN and the money lender we have come to be behoove to ,to get stuffed. get it over and done with, (x yrs) the economy back on its feet, or face 200 yrs of darkness,  because we are to gutless to take the plunge. Too many politician’s supporting the negative outcomes sought, or simply there for the ride, nodding their heads, eating their lunch, and holding out their hands on Wednesday. I,m not mad. I,ve seen all this and more. Re read our our Advisory group report in a past blog. That went viral.
  7. A major shake up. The feds are up in arms, along with Groundswell, Don Brash, Fed Farmers and others, about the RMA reforms. pg 20 Farmers Weekly 23 March 2026. Farmers worse off. Another broken promise. Farmers will need to spend $10,000 to get consent to farm. Big no to growing the economy, reducing resource consents and respecting property rights. A fundamental flaw in the design of the legislation. Setting water quality standards is fine. But it should not mean all activity stops until the target is achieved. This article is notable in that there is no mention of cultural concerns used to drive such planning. Indeed the new legislation also is seen to be strong on Labour,s Fresh Water plans. Lately i read in one of the farming papers , that Luxon says Govt looking at the Bio Diversity NPS. Look at this. Just before the last Local Govt elections Horizons strengthen the provisions to capture small sites of biodiversity. .3 trees or rushes in a paddock?. Any way the plan seeks to enhance, grow, link. Have to be fenced. No spraying or fertilizer within 20meters. All 4 plans are recognised in that they all seek the same out come. Land Use Change. The man is worse than Trump.  The Feds are now proposing a major shake up in local Govt. Could it be they are not happy with the New water services model. They are pushing the Unitary Authority model, something i was strong on during my time on the Council. Very interesting in that the feds Gave me no support, even, to the point of openly undermining my credibility. They are now saying that model is the most effective way to streamline local govt. Councils based on regional and city lines would be better able to be focused on local,  place based decisions. Simplify relation ships with central Govt and better  able to plan and deliver functions more consistently. Such a structure based on rural /city lines makes sense in terms geography, land use, and services ratepayers want. Sounds like a return to the Borough County Council Days. Something that Govt deliberately did away with ,and look at what that did to our rural economy. Farmers would never have allowed the regulatory destruction of our rural economy, thus Govt needed to remove that by amalgamation and thus the urban wards always ended up with more councilors sitting around the table. A hankering for the past. Too late?. Here we go. Thursday march 19th 2026, Horowhenua Chronicle. pg 5. Who’s holding the tap?. New Board appointed for the Central Districts Water. Skilled independent Board. 6 Members. confirmed by the shareholders committee, include Mayor’s, elected members from the 3 councils, plus Maori . All holding their hands out, plus the administrative costs of such. Seen it all before with the amalgamation of the County/ Borough councils. All promises . No savings just more cost. The Tax Payers Union is saying . Co-Governance of local waters. National is about to implement Nania Mahuta,s  confiscation of community owned water assets. Lets wait til 2028. That is the common catchment expiry date for water takes across the country. It is my view that then Mahuta,s 3 waters will come into effect. We have been shafted.
  8. Doug Edmeades is pissed off at National now proposing a cap on Phosphate use, saying Soil P levels of 25 should be the cap limit. He has a sense of foreboding. If science loses to PC philosophy. We all lose. pg 5 NZ Farmer April 26th 2026.
  9. Emission’s. Ag emission targets imposed on farmers unrealistic. Sir Lockwood Smith. This is typical of perverse outcomes resulting from poor political decision making that he has observed to often. There is a need to feed a growing world population , improving health outcomes protecting ecosystems and staying within planetary boundary’s.. Not going to do it by inhibiting food supply or filling the deficit from less carbon efficient countries. Do you think Luxon will listen? Price of carbon has fallen to $31/t recently, up a bit to $40 something. My view. Its finished, .Internationally. But here. My view, it is not about the environment ,but Land use Change. That is about Treaty Settlements. They want it back. Not that many maori do, but is driven by a few, and Govt under pressure from the UN and it bankers. pg 27 NZ Farmer February 2026. Carbon market a cooling concern.
  10. That’s it from me .Bye
